April 2012 Institutional Advancement: Expanding tools for giving

The momentum continues at the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC). From expanding facilities and programs to attracting the best and brightest students, faculty, researchers and staff, we are helping to secure the future of health care for our friends and families across Texas and beyond.

In this day of diminishing state support, it is essential to have discretionary money available to take advantage of unbudgeted opportunities that arise throughout the year. That is why many new tools and initiatives have been implemented over the last year or so. These tools are essential in establishing a consistent, easy way for donors to give.

Many of you may have noticed the Net Community Grow portal on the TAMHSC website. This portal has many dynamic features and offers visitors great information specific to their area of interest. The site is mainly used to give donors and alumni access to giving opportunities and to sign up for various events. These events include things such as college “tailgates” and golf tournaments. One of the bigger events on the Net Community Grow website was the 2012 Celebration Gala information and sign-up form. The site will continue to evolve as we implement its many features with our future campaigns.

Another exciting “first” at the TAMHSC is the rollout of our payroll deduction form. This form is available online on the Office of Finance and Administration page of the website. The new payroll deduction form can be found under “Payroll and HR Services.” Scroll down to the payroll forms section, and click the general payroll forms tab. From there, scroll down and select the “Employee Charitable Contribution Form.” This form will allow you to designate your gift to the program, department or giving initiative of your choice. There are so many opportunities throughout the TAMHSC where your gift can make a difference!

As we rely on the gifts from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to help support the mission of the TAMHSC, these groups look to our own participation in giving to measure our dedication and belief in our goals. When the Texas A&M Health Science Center faculty and staff give, it sends a strong signal that we believe in our mission and are committed to providing quality health care education and research that impacts our future for generations to come.
