The Center for Community Health Development (CCHD) at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health has received $152,110 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to plan and conduct an international conference on advancing population health intervention research. Regents Professor Ken McLeroy, Ph.D., Monica Wendel, Dr.P.H., CCHD director, and Kelly Drake, M.P.H., will organize this invitation-only conference scheduled for March 26-27, 2012 in Montreal, Canada, which will feature discussions by researchers and practitioners representing cutting-edge work in population health from around the world.

This is the third conference of an ongoing series examining conceptual, methodological, and practical issues in population health intervention research. A summary of the Chicago meeting in 2009 was recently published in the American Journal of Public Health, “Advancing the Science of Community-Level Interventions.” (Am J Public Health 2011 101: 1410-1419, 10.2105/AJPH.2010.300113)
