(COLLEGE STATION, TX) — The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine will induct the college’s largest-ever incoming class of 153 first-year students at a white coat ceremony Saturday.

The ceremony is at 10 a.m. in Rudder Theater Complex at Texas A&M University (corner of Joe Routt Boulevard and Houston Street). Students in the Class of 2013 will each receive a white coat to signify the beginning of their medical training. Class of ’84 graduate Randy Eckert, M.D., is the featured speaker, and a reception will follow at the nearby Rudder Exhibit Hall.

The white coat ceremony is part of “Reunion ’09,” a weekend of events and activities honoring alumni and their families and highlighting the 25th reunion of the Class of 1984.
