The student chapter of Women In Medicine at The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine will present a “Fight Against Breast Cancer Skate-a-thon” on Saturday, November 8, 2003 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wolf Pen Skating Rink, 2400 Earl Rudder Freeway in College Station. The cost of the event is $10 for students and $15 for non-students. All proceeds will go to breast cancer awareness and research programs. Registration is available at the door.
Anita Karnik, a student at the College of Medicine who is helping to organize this event, notes: “There will be skating and games for everyone, and educational booths will be set up to inform participants about breast cancer. We look forward to seeing you there, and thank you for your support in this effort to fight a disease that affects so many women, their families and friends.” For more information on the Skate-a-thon, interested persons can contact Ms. Karnik at ADKarnik@medicine.tamu.edu.
