This year, Nancy W. Dickey, M.D., president of the Texas A&M Health Science Center and vice chancellor for health affairs for The Texas A&M University System, stressed to attendees the need for more gender specific research and treatments.

Also presenting to the group was the new dean of the Baylor College of Dentistry, Lawrence E. Wolinsky, Ph.D., D.M.D. Dean Wolinsky tied dental health to many different conditions affecting women such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. He also stressed the importance of regular checkups and dental care for oral health and as a first line of defense in overall health.

As the TAMHSC continues to grow, events like this offer a forum to spread the story of success. Friends in Dallas and across the state are the reason the institution is succeeding in the mission of providing excellent education, superior science and compassionate care throughout Texas and beyond.
