Dickey named board president

(COLLEGE STATION, TX) – Nancy W. Dickey, M.D., president of the Texas A&M Health Science CenterHSC President Dr. Nancy W. Dickey and vice chancellor for health affairs for The Texas A&M University System, has been appointed to a two-year term as president of the federal Defense Health Board.

The appointment was made Monday (April 4) by Secretary of Defense Dr. Robert M. Gates.

The Defense Health Board is a federal advisory committee to the Secretary of Defense. It provides independent scientific advice/recommendations on matters relating to operational programs, health policy development, health research programs, and requirements for the treatment and prevention of disease and injury, promotion of health and the delivery of health care to Department of Defense beneficiaries.
