Dr. Sweeney to Serve on Institute of Medicine Roundtable

Anne Sweeney, Ph.D., professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) School of Rural Public Health, will serve on an Institute of Medicine Roundtable on Environmental Health Sciences, Research, and Medicine. The committee will meet two to three times annually until Dec. 31, 2014.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for experts from academic institutions, government agencies, industry groups, consumer groups and corporations to come together and discuss important environmental impacts on human health,” Dr. Sweeney said.

The roundtable will discuss broad environmental health issues in an effort to highlight critical areas within the field of study, with a focus on the impacts of the natural, built and social environments.
