First Friday Pink and Red Zone Celebration

As part of the First Friday celebration in downtown Bryan on Friday, Oct. 1, the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) will host a “Pink and Red Zone” celebrating women’s health from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Sale Park on the corner of West 28th Street and Main Street. The focus is on breast cancer awareness (October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month) and heart health in women (Oct. 1 is the opening day of  “The Heart Truth® Red Dress Collection and First Ladies Red Dress Collection” at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum).

The celebration includes singer Karan Chavis, assistant dean in the TAMHSC-College of Medicine who has performed across Texas and nationwide. There also will be giveaways for women in attendance and testimonials from breast cancer and heart disease survivors.

Partners include the George Bush Presidential Museum and Library, the Surving and Thriving Committee, the College Station Medical Center Health Woman Program, the Downtown Bryan Association, and the City of Bryan.
