Free dental sealants March 31

Dental students and faculty at Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry will provide free dental sealants and cleanings March 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college for children ages 6-14.

Dental sealants are thin, plastic coatings painted on the chewing surfaces of the premolars and molars (back teeth) to shield the teeth from the bacteria that can lead to decay and cavities.

The services are provided at no charge; however, children must have appointments to be treated, and a parent or legal guardian must accompany them. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 214-828-8400, ext. 4199.

The dental school is located at 3302 Gaston Ave. on the corner of Gaston and Hall streets in Dallas. The services will be provided in the pediatric dentistry clinic, which is located on the second floor.
