Hicks named vice dean of Temple medical school campus

Dr. Paul Hicks, M.D., Ph.D., has been appointed vice dean of the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine's Temple campus.

Dr. Paul Hicks, M.D., Ph.D. has been named Vice Dean of the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC)-College of Medicine’s Temple campus. Dr. Hicks is board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and has served as an educator at A&M’s medical school for 26 years.

Prior to his appointment as Vice Dean, Dr. Hicks was Associate Chief of Staff for Research at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, also in Temple, from 2007 to 2013. Dr. Hicks has served as a faculty member of TAMHSC-COM’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science since 1987, being promoted to the faculty rank of professor in 1999. Dr. Hicks also serves as a member of the graduate faculty at Texas A&M University, and holds a joint appointment in Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics.

“The TAMHSC-College of Medicine’s multiple campuses offer a variety of exciting educational opportunities for medical students.  It is my distinct pleasure to have the opportunity to contribute to their success on our Temple campus,” Dr. Hicks said. “I look forward to helping our campuses work together to train tomorrow’s leaders in medicine through the exceptional clinical and research facilities available to our students.”
