McClellan to Serve as Acting Regional Chair

Dr. David McClellan

(BRYAN, TEXAS) — T. Samuel Shomaker, M.D., J.D., Dean of the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) College of Medicine, announces the appointment of David A. McClellan, M.D., as the TAMHSC-College of Medicine Acting Regional Chair of Family & Community Medicine. Dr. McClellan is based out of the Family Medicine Center in Bryan.

As the Acting Regional Chair, Dr. McClellan will guide family and community medicine initiatives in Bryan-College Station.

Dr. McClellan received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston in 1975, and in 1978 he served as Chief Resident at Memorial Family Practice in Houston.

Dr. McClellan is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine, American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics.

Dr. McClellan will continue to serve as the Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, as a Texas A&M Physician, and as an Assistant Professor of Family & Community Medicine for the TAMHSC-College of Medicine.
