Media Advisory: Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health Holds Groundbreaking Celebration
Who: The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center and the A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health (SRPH)
What: Celebrate the beginning of construction on the new SRPH building
When: September 15, 2004, at 10 a.m.
Where: The celebration will be held at the building site on Texas A&M University’s west campus, at the corner of Adriance Lab Road and University Drive.
Speakers: The Honorable Fred Brown, state representative;
Dr. Benton Cocanougher, the A&M System’s interim chancellor;
Mr. Jack Buckley, CEO of St. Joseph Health Center and chair of the SRPH Executive Advisory Board
Johnathan Prins, president of the Rural Public Health Student Association
Dr. Nancy Dickey, president of the A&M Health Science Center and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs for the A&M System;
Dr. Ciro Sumaya, School of Rural Public Health Dean.
The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center provides the state with health education, outreach and research. Its five components located in communities throughout Texas are Baylor College of Dentistry, the College of Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Institute of Biosciences and Technology and the School of Rural Public Health.
