Marvellous Akinlotan, a graduate student with the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) School of Rural Public Health, was recently awarded the President’s Scholarship by the Office of the President of the TAMHSC. She will receive $2,500 in scholarship funding towards her education.

The President’s Scholarship is funded by the President’s Circle Campaign and is awarded to one student from each of the colleges of the TAMHSC. In 2011, the President’s Scholarship program was created as a way to honor students who are dedicated to leadership and academic excellence and are committed to community service.

Akinlotan will obtain a Master in Public Health from the Department of Health Policy Management in May of 2014. She is a member of the student chapter of the Institute for Health Improvement, serving on the Learning and Improvement committee. Akinlotan hopes to pursue a residency in dental public health following her graduation from the TAMHSC-School of Rural Public Health.
