Matthew Smith, Ph.D., M.P.H., assistant professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, spoke at a Sept. 20 press conference on the steps of the Texas Capitol that was hosted by Texas State Rep. Patrick Rose, D-District 45, to kick off Texas Falls Prevention Awareness and Prevention Week, Sept. 20-24.

Dr. Smith is a member of the National Falls Evaluation Committee through the National Council on Aging and has experience with falls prevention evidence-based programs at the local, state and national level.
