SRPH Dr. Bolin appointed to committee

Jane Bolin, Ph.D., J.D., RN, associate professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, recently was appointed to a three-year term on the Texas Department of State Health Services Compliance and Institutional Review Board (IRB) Committee.

The overarching purpose of the committee is to protect the rights and welfare of people and the protection of private health data.

Dr. Bolin’s 15 years of practice as an attorney in health-related areas and her practice in nursing, including critical care, provide a unique research and policy perspective on issues related to health law as it intersects with compliance and protection in research, as well as the regulation of providers, hospitals and health organizations.

Dr. Bolin also was recently appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Rural Health.
