In rural communities, gaining access to health care can pose a challenge. The Holland Rural Health Rotations program, led by Catherine McNeal, M.D., Ph.D., exposes first-year medical students to the everyday struggles rural families face. Now in it's fifth year, the program has established a strong relationship with the community of Holland, providing health care where it was previously difficult to find.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center Coastal Bend Health Education Center (CBHEC) and the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District (CCNCPHD) have entered a $840,000 service agreement to provide more diabetes education in the Coastal Bend.
