Mohammad Murtuza, a graduate student pursuing his master of public health degree with a concentration in border health at the McAllen Campus of the School of Public Health, was one of only two students selected to receive the Gerry C. Gunnin, Ph.D. Public Health Memorial Scholarship.

Krystha Cantu grew up in McAllen, Texas, a city in the Rio Grande Valley that is as southerly as South Texas gets. When Krystha, who attended Rice University as an undergraduate, applied for medical schools, she had no idea she’d be offered a full-ride, $100,000 scholarship to attend Texas A&M’s medical school in Bryan-College Station.

The professional student pharmacists with the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy have raised more than $33,000 for the Dr. James Robertson Jr. Memorial Scholarship fund in the Ties & Tennis Shoes 5K Memorial Run/Walk on Feb. 21.

On August 20, 2012, the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) College of Medicine awarded more than $74,000 in scholarships to students for the 2012-2013 academic year. Scholarships were funded by philanthropic support from donors, organizations and the College of Medicine.
