Valentines for Vets

Students in the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) School of Rural Public Health conducted their annual “Valentines for Vets” drive by collecting notes of appreciation and thanks for U.S. veterans’ sacrifice and service. “Valentines for Vets” is an annual event to support and promote National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week, Feb. 8-14.

Student members of the Association for Future Healthcare Leaders collected money and supplies from other TAMHSC-School of Rural Public Health students and faculty and also received a generous donation from H-E-B. Students were able to give gifts to more than 80 residents at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, Texas. Items included toiletries; goodie bags with phone cards, Sudoku/crossword books or playing cards; and candy and cake.
