Basic Sciences Host Lecture, Seminar

On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine will host Michael Escamilla, M.D., for an ethics lecture and a seminar on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder at its Bryan and College Station campuses with videoconferencing to the Temple campus.

The lecture titled “Ethics in Research” will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Health Professions Education Building room LL 30 in Bryan with videoconferencing to the Medical Education Center lecture hall 2 in Temple.  The lecture is hosted by the Department of Humanities in Medicine.

A reception will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Health Professions Education Building rooms LL 43 A and B.

The seminar titled “Genetics of Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder” will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Joe H. Reynolds Medical Building room 162 in College Station with videoconferencing to Bryan in the Health Professions Educational Building room LL 11A and to Temple in the Medical Education Center room 201, West Campus room C126 and the VA205-1R21.  The seminar is hosted by the Department of Humanities in Medicine and the Department of Molecular and Cellular Medicine.

Dr. Escamilla currently serves as Director of the Center for Excellence in Neurosciences at the Texas Tech Health Science Center Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso.
