Four candidates for College of Medicine dean

(COLLEGE STATION, TX) – Four candidates for dean of the Texas A&M Health Science Center (HSC) College of Medicine and HSC vice president for clinical affairs are giving seminars and visiting with administrators, faculty, staff and students.

The candidates are Thomas (Sam) Shomaker, M.D., J.D., Chancellor’s Health Fellow in Healthcare Reform/Reimbursement in The University of Texas System; Donald DiPette, M.D, vice president for medical affairs and Health Sciences Distinguished Professor in the University of South Carolina; William Rayburn, M.D., M.B.A., professor and chair of obstetrics and gynecology in the University of New Mexico School of Medicine; and Michael Bungo, M.D., professor of medicine in cardiology and diagnostic and interventional imaging in The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Final interviews are scheduled for mid- to late July in hopes of having a new HSC-College of Medicine dean by late fall.
