Today is the perfect date!

According to Miss Rhode Island, April 25th is perfect "because it`s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket."

What do you think makes a perfect date? Here`s what some of y`all said:

- Good food 🌮
- Mini golf ⛳
- Coffee, Aggie Park and flowers 🌸
- Steak 🥩
- A long walk with a dog or two 🐕

Although we didn`t need a light jacket today in Texas, we still think it was a pretty perfect day with our Aggies!

Texas A&M Health is the first institution in the nation to be awarded a National Institutes of Health (NIH) training grant specifically targeting lymphatic biology and medicine!

The funding will support two @tamumedicine PhD students per year selected for the LYMphatics in Pathology and Health (LYMPH) Training Program.

Lymphatic biology has been historically underfunded despite playing a central role in many of the body’s processes, including fluid balance, immune function and waste removal, which collectively involve every organ system in the body. This means the lymphatic system is another avenue by which scientists can research disease processes and identify potential treatments.

This training grant is the first of its kind in the nation, as lymphatic biology is a relatively new field of study in medicine, and is now gaining traction as an area of special interest by the NIH. Students selected for the program will be part of the pursuit for a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms, physiological systems and clinical applications of lymphatic research.

Mariappan Muthuchamy, PhD, will serve as the LYMPH Training Program director, along with Brett Mitchell, PhD, the program’s co-director, Sanjukta Chakraborty, PhD, and Shannon Glaser, PhD, in-charge of the program’s curriculum development, and Oksana Nekrashevych, MPH, the program’s administrative manager.

More than 2,600 Aggie nurses have entered the workforce since 2008, and there`s no doubt that our world is a much better place because of it! Happy 15th anniversary to the Texas A&M University School of Nursing (@tamunursing)! 🎉

Current and former students, donors, faculty, staff and more gathered this past Saturday at Texas A&M Health to celebrate this milestone. Dean Horsley said it best during her remarks:

"You will hear me say it often: Where there is a need, you will find an Aggie nurse. No matter the activity, the school has always kept the needs of our students and the patients and communities they will go on to serve at the forefront.”

Here`s to many, many more impactful years to come!

It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience today as we got to witness the total eclipse in Texas!

Some of our @tamumedicine students are pictured here at an eclipse watch party at Lake Walk. The eclipse had 98.4% coverage of the sun in Bryan and was visible in cloud breaks through the day`s overcast sky.
