School of Nursing’s online programs ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in Texas by U.S. News & World Report

RN-to-BSN and master's offerings are top in Texas and among the nation's best

The Texas A&M University School of Nursing’s online bachelor’s and master’s programs are among the nation’s best, according to U.S. News and World Report.

In its annual Best Online Programs ranking for 2024, the School of Nursing’s RN-to-BSN program ranked seventh nationally and first in Texas among all online bachelor’s degrees. The school’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) was No. 20 nationally and No. 2 in Texas for online nursing master’s programs.

The RN-to-BSN program is available to registered nurses with an associate degree in nursing seeking to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The MSN program includes tracks in nursing education, family nurse practitioner and forensic nursing.

Methodologies for the rankings take into account factors including engagement; service and technologies; faculty credentials and training; and peer assessment.

Here`s another...graduate spotlight!!! 🎓 🔦

Katie Bailey graduated with a BSN from the Texas A&M School of Nursing in 2019. Nursing was her second career and a melding of her two lifelong passions: people and science. After becoming a parent to two children with a rare genetic autoinflammatory disease and seeing the impact nurses made on her children`s care, her love for the healthcare field reignited 🔥

Katie is currently a clinical supervisor with an education focus at Dell Children`s. She cares for patients part-time while also working with a phenomenal leadership team and staff, and she feels incredibly lucky to get to do both. She loves continuing to care for patients and enjoys working collaboratively to assess education needs and facilitating growth to promote staff confidence and patient safety.

What an outstanding example of an Aggie nurse!! 👍 🏥

It`s a little dark in here...maybe we should get a spotlight going...ON A RECENT GRADUATE!! 🔦 🌟

Today we`re highlighting Brooke Askew `23. When she was in nursing school, Brooke knew she wanted to go into labor and delivery. Today, Brooke works at Houston Methodist Willowbrook as an L&D nurse and absolutely loves her job! 🎓

💉 What made you want to go into L&D? 💉
Brooke: The patient population! I love being able to care for and empower my patients in some of their toughest and most vulnerable moments. The birthday parties every shift are just a sweet bonus!

👶 What’s your favorite part of the job?👶
I love that I get to help bring new life into the world. I get to be the calming presence in a scary situation. I get to watch a woman conquer some of her greatest fears for a baby she has not met yet, but already loves so much. I get to try and be a light for families who experience dark times and loss. Working as an L&D nurse is such a privilege, and I`m very thankful for what I get to do.

🏥 Do you have any advice for students/future Aggie Nurses?🏥
Ask all the questions and take every opportunity you have in clinical. It might be scary, but be bold and ask to practice skills/observe procedures. You can learn so much if you are willing.
