First-year dental student Grace Plain is soaring to new heights! Not only is she an alumna of Texas A&M University and a proud member of the dental school’s class of 2027, she is also a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Plain is attending dental school as one of only eight people in the nation to earn the Air Force’s Health Professional Scholarship.

Texas A&M School of Dentistry and its alumni association presented outstanding and distinguished alumni awards during a reception Aug. 25 at the Southwest Dental Conference in Dallas. Those honored included (from left) Dr. Gabrielle Dizon, 2023 Outstanding Young Alumnus; Dr. Jacqueline Plemons, 2020-2021 Distinguished Alumnus; and Dr. Wayne Woods, 2023 Distinguished Alumnus. Dr. Sarah (Percy) Tovar was named 2020-2021 Outstanding Young Alumnus but was unable to attend. Congratulations to everyone!
